Learn how to protect yourself online and on social media. Gain insight into different types of viruses, hackers and how to reduce the threat of your information being compromised. Course topics: Cyber Security overview; types of viruses; hackers and how to protect yourself; two factor authentication and passwords. This course is a pathway to: PTCC's Cyber Security program Emergency Medical Responder Initial (EMR-I) Intended for police officers, firefighters, and other public safety personnel, this Emergency Medical Responder Initial course provides instruction in emergency medical care at the scene of an accident or a medical emergency. Includes patient assessment: CPR; airway management including oxygen; adjunct airways and other resuscitation equipment; medical emergencies including seizures, strokes, heart attacks, and poisonings; trauma management; bandaging: splinting; and spinal immobilization. Students will be certified upon completion through the Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board. This course is a pathway to: PTCC's Emergency Medical Services Professional program Introduction to Cyber Security This course builds on the topics discussed in Personal Cyber Security 101. It is a deeper dive into the world of cyber security. Learn how cyber security is changing the world and the skills you need to land a well-paying job in the field. Course topics: The need for cyber security; attacks, concepts & techniques: protecting your data and privacy: protecting the organization; job trends; and educational opportunities in cyber security. Principles of Carpentry and Tool Safety - Let's Build! While working on a wood construction project you will learn the foundational principles of safe construction of wood structures; material sourcing: processing; tool functions; tool and equipment safety and production. Credit is earned toward: PTCC's Construction Technology program This course is a pathway to: PTCC's Cyber Security program Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Working as a Nursing Assistant (NA) is an excellent stand-alone career or a way to launch a nursing career. PTCC's program will prepare you with the knowledge and clinical skills to work in a variety of settings including nursing homes, hospitals, adult day care centers, personal homes, and assisted living facilities. NA training requires just a few weeks of time and provides the information and skills needed to become a Nursing Assistant on the Minnesota State Registry.
